Interface between school and university
As a central academic institution for teacher education, the LSE brings together a wide range of disciplines whose work is of particular importance to society. This makes education-related transfer one of the inherent tasks of teacher education. The LSE promotes education-related transfer not only by actively participating in academic discourse, but also by acting as a central interface between educational institutions and non-university partners. Our Leibniz School Connect, uniKIK school projects and uniplus teacher training teams are particularly involved in this area. The description of the profile area is based on the Science Council's expanded understanding of transfer, the systematisation of the Society for Subject Didactics, and the assumption that transfer is an inherent task of teacher education.
Education-related transfer extends to the various transfer fields of educational practice, science outreach and science communication, educational policy consulting, and intra-scientific exchange. Transfer can also overlap between fields. Since findings from specialist sciences, subject didactics, and educational sciences must be networked in all transfer fields, the LSE plays a key role here.
- Field of transfer: Educational practice: Communication and transfer of current findings from specialist sciences, subject didactics and educational psychology on educational processes and learning in more formal and institutional contexts such as schools.
- Field of transfer: Science outreach and science communication: Non-formal and informal educational contexts such as public lecture series and citizen science projects.
- Transfer field Consulting on education management: Focus on state-specific and nationwide education administration.
- Transfer field Intra-scientific exchange: Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary transfer of research approaches and findings to the disciplines and sectors involved in educational processes.
