Approval procedure for professorships:
The approval of professorships in subject didactics and educational sciences requires agreement between the respective faculty and the LSE. The LSE is involved in an advisory capacity in the preparation of approval applications and profile papers. In the event of conflicts, the decision is made by the Presidium based on the opinion of the Senate.
Participation in appointment procedures:
The LSE has voting rights in appointment procedures for these professorships, usually through a member of the university teaching staff group. The LSE's executive board appoints the LSE's representative on the appointment committee.
Special reference to teacher training:
For all other professorships in the faculties involved in teacher education, the release application must state whether there is a special reference to teacher training. If this is the case, a statement from the LSE Board of Directors must be attached and the LSE must be given voting rights in the appointment procedure, also through a member of the university teaching staff group. Here, too, the LSE's executive board appoints the representative on the appointment committee. In the event of conflicts, the presidium decides after consulting the senate.
The LSE thus makes a decisive contribution to quality assurance and the strategic orientation of teacher education at the university.
