The Teacher Education Course at the Leibniz University Hannover in Numbers

Since 2014, the Leibniz School of Education, with support from the unit for higher-education-planning and controlling, annually publishes a specific data basis for the polyvalent and the teacher education degrees at the Leibniz University Hannover.

In the polyvalent bachelor degrees, subject and teacher education students are being jointly educated.  In order to still be able to show the teacher education students, the graduands of the previously not teacher-education-specific differentiated contents of the full-time-equivalents in the polyvalent bachelor degrees were helpfully differentiated through the graduands who had completed a school internship.

The number of Teacher Education students at the Leibniz University has risen again and, thus, follows the trend of the student body development at the Leibniz University Hannover overall. Like the year before, circa 19% of all students are studying with the intention of becoming a Teacher Education graduate. Six of the nine faculties are involved in teaching Teacher Education, most predominantly the Faculty of Humanities, followed by the Faculty of Natural Science and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
