Once you have registered using the form on our website, you will receive an email from the project team confirming your participation in the programme. The project team will then add you to the Stud.IP course for the BIKO-LAMB programme.

We communicate exclusively via the LUH email address. This allows us to verify students’ identities, as only they have a Leibniz University Hannover email address.

Yes, a specific sequence of modules is required for BIKO-LAMB, starting with Module A. You can only have Modules B, C and D recognised for BIKO-LAMB if they were completed after Module A. This sequence of modules is mandatory for all students!

Modules B, C and D can then be flexibly combined and completed depending on the degree programme and its structure.

The requirements for receiving the certificate are – in accordance with the order of documentation – the submission of evidence of having passed the modules and the submission of the final report.

The project coordination team is responsible for issuing the certificate. To this end, please upload the required evidence for the individual modules to the relevant Stud.IP folders. Once you have uploaded all the evidence, please feel free to send us an email to let us know.

You can register for the DaZ/DaF workshop via Stud.IP, and you will receive further information about participating schools and the matching process in the Stud.IP course.

The amount of time required for the placement at a school as part of Module A is agreed directly with the teaching staff. When registering their requirements, we ask them to provide a rough estimate of how much time the support is likely to take. However, experience shows that this is often difficult to estimate, and a timeframe only becomes clear once the work has begun – not least because new ideas and needs arise during the course of the collaboration. When you first make contact, please discuss on which days and to what extent you will be able to work.

The partnership is set to run for at least one school term. However, you are welcome to get involved for longer if you wish.

Students on the Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s programme have the option of having their participation in the Professional Development area recognised for credit within the Key Competences module. Further information can be found in the document ‘Options for crediting’.

The work placement relevant to your field of study must have an international/intercultural DaZ/DaF focus. Please first speak to the accreditation officer for your subject to find out whether you can undertake the placement at your preferred institution. For further advice, please then contact the BIKO-LAMB project coordination team.

Students on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Technical Education have the option of having their participation in the ‘Professional Development’ area recognised as part of the ‘Key Competences’ module. Further information can be found in the document ‘Options for crediting’.

It is not currently possible to have courses taken as part of the BIKO-LAMB programme recognised for credit towards the Master’s degree in Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. You are, however, welcome to complete the modules and obtain the certificate.

The S7 module can be recognised in Module A in place of the DaZ/DaF workshop if both courses (S7.1 Theory and S7.2 Practical Components) have been completed. If you have completed both courses in S7, please upload your certificates of attendance to the relevant folder via Stud.IP.

Modules S5 cannot be recognised as an equivalent for attendance at the “Werkstatt DaZ/DaF” seminar. However, completing Module S5 is one of the requirements for having BIKO-LAMB recognised as an equivalent to the ZQ-DaZ. Further information on this can be found here.

At present, there are no official regulations governing further training or certificates that set out the requirements for teaching DaZ pupils in schools. Through the BIKO-LAMB programme, you will acquire the foundational skills that will enable you to teach DaZ pupils inclusively in intercultural and multilingual classrooms, as well as to provide language learning support.

BIKO-LAMB is conditionally recognised by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) as qualifying for teaching in integration courses.

Teacher training students at Leibniz University Hannover who are studying German as their first, second or teaching subject can, after completing their bachelor's degree, have the BIKO-LAMB professional development programme recognised by the BAMF as equivalent to the ZQ-DaZ. This means that, subject to certain conditions, successful completion of BIKO-LAMB entitles graduates to teach on BAMF-funded integration courses. Further details can be found here.
